Be Focused Pro - Focus Timer App Comentários

O Pomodoro Time Pro equilibra tudo isso.

Aplicativo simples eficiente

O aplicativo é eficiente e sua simplicidade agrada. Possui apenas as informações úteis.

Developer, please update the app! Thanks!

Can’t recommend

The main feature I bought it for was for tracking the number of intervals and the auto-run feature, but if you forget to stop it and put the computer on sleep, it continues to run, rendering it unusable as a way to track time. It’s not smart enough to know that it should stop running and there’s also no way to reset or remove those intervals from occurring.

Great!

Love the Pomodoro method! Easy to use, Focus Matrix with it is a blast and boosts productivity. Very easy to use; graphically concise and colorful; syncs perfectly across devices. Method itself: really helps.

Love this!

Love having acess to this on my desktop—it’s a total game-changer for me for focus and productivity.

Great App

This app has tripled my work output and reshaped my awareness of time. Simple and effective.

Mostly Great

Bought the “Pro” version and this does everything as well as I’d hoped… except for one thing… you can’t make indivual timers. I’d like to have one timer for meditation, one for work, one for writing, etc. And I’d like to have different times set for each. But, all you can do it globally set the timer length in the settings. I bought the iOS version too. They sync well, but this lack of having separate timer lengths is kind of a pain. -1 star for that

Be Focused Pro is awesome

This app has really helped me maintain my speed and focus—gamifying my customer support queue work. :)

Great, Except for Changing the Time Duration

The app is great. It sits in the top nav bar of your desktop, so it’s incredibly easy to access. However, it is really annoying to change the duration of the timer. You have this large dropdown from the icon with a big round thing and giant numbers in the middle. The intuitive thing to do is to click on the numbers to change them (2 clicks). But instead you have to click the small gear at the bottom right, click settings, click the intervals tab in the menu, then hit the dropdown menu next to work interval duration, and select your work interval duration (5 clicks, and menus). It may seem like a petty thing, and in the scheme of life it certainly is. However, why not make the improvement? Clicking through that many menus is cumbersome. If it was in the intuitive place it would make this app perfect. It would be 5 stars with the timer duration fix.

Perfect for keeping track of time

Be Focused Pro is wonderful for helping me keep track of how I distrubute my time accross all my tasks.

Straight forward.

This app is straight forward to what it is intended to.

Still ads on the paid version

The app works as advertised. However, I’m dissapointed to still receive pop up ads even after paying for the “Pro” version. The difference is that the ads are now for other products that this company makes.

Simple but very easy to use.

Key shortcuts, the fact that the time is shown in the menu bar, and ability to control how alerts work, makes this timer very nice way to fit into my workflow.

Nagware

I paid for the pro version but am being nagged with popups to rate the app. I don't appreciate these distractions and would expect better from software that's supposed to help me focus. Here's your rating, now please leave me alone.

Rating Spam

Great app, don’t rate spam if the point of it is to focus though.

My writing buddy

This app has been really helpful. I have been using it for pomodoro sessions and it has helped me stay focused because I am aware that I my writing buddy {befocused app) is tracking time. I highly recommend it.

everything is great!

This is the best tracker that I have ever use to track my work. It works perfect except that sometimes the sync is not seamless. Please optimize icloud sync process. it would become perfect!

Quite good for the most part

I’ve had Be Focused Proinstalled on 2 Macs and an iPhone for a couple of years now, and it tends to work really well. I really like the fact that you see reports showing you exactly which tasks you tracked using the app, and for how many intervals. The sycning is typically quite good, with only the occasional glitch. Overall I’m quite happy with this app. I would give it 5 start except that it just keeps asking me to leave a review ALL the time, which is getting very annoying.

Freelancer’s Friend

Simple and straightforward, Be Focused has helped me not only stay on task, but manage my projects efficiently. As a work-from-home designer with ADHD, I’m constantly distracted by one thing or the other, which can make simple projects drag on for days. Be Focused helps me plan out my work sessions into 30-minute intervals that are bite sized and consistent. Very helpful tool.

okay but no dark mode

It works okay but sticks out like a sore thumb because of the bright white theme, would really appreciate it if developers added customizable color options for app

great for maintaining focus

I really love this app. It helps me to stay focused, and it helps me to keep track of what I have been working on.

Awesome App

I love it. It’s great for me. I can get some much work done useing this app.

Effective for staying focused

This little app does what it says - makes you stay focused and tracks your time. I find it helpful especailly for the time tracking when working on freelance projects. Upgrade seems worth to me.

Just what I needed

It’s simple, clean, and for the cost of a teriyaki chicken bowl, my tasks and their timers sync across my work laptop, phone, and watch. This is great for helping me focus and get tasks complete in bite-size chunks throughout the day. Well done!

Has the features I need and nothing more

I enjoy this app, and use it daily. The one thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is that I wish there was a way to configure the app so that it would have the tasks expanded by default in the “to do” view. It only allows for 5 or 6 words in the “to do” view, which makes it hard to prioritize tasks.

it’s useful, but...

…it’s more like a timer for me because you cannot preset the intervals to each chores. You have to change it manually. For instance, if you set 20mins to read and then another 10 mins to review, you have to change the interval manually. If you do lots of short chores and you want to keep track, this app it’s not what you are looking for. However, if you need a good timer and you don’t mind keeping track of your chores, then get it, but wait for the discount.

Stop nagging me!

I bought the app because I wanted to support the developer, and make the annoying prompts go away. Now every couple of days it asks me to rate the *(&# app. Enjoy your 1 star rating.

sync lags messed up the records!!

As stated in the previous reviews, the sync lags messed up with everything. You can start your clock and just have one second left to finish. A small click on the ios app with unsync data can totally mess up and start you all over from the beginning at this clock since the system only recognize the newest action!! I randomlly used my ipad to start a new clock without realizing that I had already started a working period. The (long time unsync) ipad did not only messed up this period but also messed up with my categories!!! A category with over 200 working period records now is totally gone!!!! This just made me so frustrated and I do really think the pro is not worth the purchase, since the only improved functions(sync and records) can get wrong so easily with the given sync lags.

Very utilitarian

This app is really really useful. As far as its basic function it gets the job done very well. It really has made a big difference in my work output. My main issue with this app is that the interface doesn’t make a lot of sense. There’s not any kind of initial explanation of how it works, and since the app UI uses few actual words, there is some trial and error in learning how to use. I find that a problem. The feeling of having to blindly learn as you go gives the feeling that this is an unprofessional app. Hopefully future updates can tighten those loose ends? Until then, I’ll still be using it.

It’s great

There’s nothing better than this app for writing—it keeps you going non-stop for the alotted time chunk, then forces you to take a much needed break. Perfect.

Really helpful!

I am thankful for this app and the way it helps me focus my attention, move toward a finish line, then reward myelf with a break. This techique, sometimes known as the Pomodoro Technique, has been very helpful to me, and this timer is just the right tool.

Nursing student happy w/app on 4 devices

24 July 2018: even better after updates. Current hardware: Macbook Pro ’15 inch 2017’, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Pro 10.5, Apple Watch 3 Cellular. Only gripe: update may logout network sync- wish app would show onscreen ‘sync’ status. Thanks. ^ Original entry: Macbook 12” retina, iPad Air 2, iPhone 5s, Apple Watch. Syncs nicely across all devices. Happy user & paying customer.

Great App- Just Wish it Was Better at Recurring Tasks

I use this app everyday and once you get into the habit of using it, it really keeps you on track. However, I wish it had some sort of way to more effecientially use recurring tasks.

Excellent app

This app is great to get things done. It allows you to focus and concentrate on the task at hand. I get more done when I use it. When I don’t I spend hours being unproductive.

relly nice app

this app runs perfectly no complaints at all, great job, congrats.

Very Handy: Have to Remember to Use It

Works well, synch’s properly across the three Mac’s and three IOS devices I use, has flexible intervals and sounds. Totally reliable. Whats not to like? And a tiny suggustion some sort of built in alarm function to remind me to use it because I have a very large number of apps.

Question

How do I synchronize my desktop with my iPhone?

Simple & Effective

To help with focused, deep work, I’ve tried several apps to use with the Pomodoro Technique, an interval-based time management method. (See the Wikipedia entry for more.) I’ve even used a tomato-shaped timer and given them out at our office. I keep going back to Be Focused Pro. It’s simple to use and effective for me, with everything I need and no complexity to clutter the interface.

Keeps me going

Bought Pro during a sale after used basic for years. Worth the price for keeping myself synced across phone and work/home computers. I habituate quickly to the reminder notifications, so the most useful notification setting combo for me is 1) the persistent banner notification that doesn’t disappear from my desktop plus 2) having to manually restart the timer for each next interval. I adjusted the total intervals to a goal I’m likely to achieve even with a few interruptions and made realistic break intervals. Eventually I have learned to check for the timer countdown consistently throughout the day and I’m happy to get the note that I’ve achieved my target more often. Seriously, it’s so much easier to stay on task when you can look and see you have a break coming in a few minutes! I also have to make myself take the breaks to get up and move around, which seems odd but - again - trains my body to be truly ON when it’s time and completely relax when it’s break time.

Life Changing App

I have used other pomodoro apps but there is something about this one that just works for me. I have been working on a project for about 8-10 months now and probably wouldn’t be anywhere close to finished without this app. This application taught me that what other people call a “work day” isn’t really a “work day”. I reccomend you use this app in combination with a website blocker for life changing effects.

Would have been 5 star but...

They just keep asking me to give a review. Maybe I don’t WANT to review your product? Stop bugging me!

Basic but nice

Would be much more useful if I could start a timer mid-stream or mark a cycle as complete to make up for mistakes in timekeeping — i.e. when I start working and forget to turn the timer on, or take a break and forget to turn the timer on. Otherwise, was worth getting Pro on sale for the reduced ads, haven’t tried the syncing capability.

Annoying notifications

I like this app enough to give it 5 stars. Except it keeps notifying me to write a review. This is already annoying in any app, but it's worse considering I paid money for it.

It works but not well done

The good… It runs. It ticks off the time intervals. The bad… you can if you have more then 7 items then you have to scroll down to see the rest. You can not change the interval sounds. Your choice is “tick - tick - tick”. Why not let you use an iTunes playlist as background? The ugly… You can not edit the title of an existing item.

Simple Functionality that Provides a Benefit

Not too many features but enought to get what you pay for with the Pro version. It has helped me at work and at home, being that it takes about 20 minutes to get into a flow state. Being able to see your work units in a report is nifty too.

It’s an excellent App.

I use both GTD integrated with the Pomodor Technique. The app works smoothly. I use Thing3 for my GTD routines. It would’ve been great if Focus Pro could import my daily tasks from Things3 into it automatically. However, as it is, the app is excellent. The best out there in my view. I love the shortcuts as well. I have it on both the desktop and mobile. I couldn’t find a user manual where it could guide me how to use the reports and how the counting works. It would be great if it could turn on privacy to make it more focused. Also, you need to detect the habits of users to see when I’m active but didn’t resume the timer and remind me to resume the timer.

Simple & Clean

I love this app because it sits nicely in my menu bar and blends with all of the other standard macOS icons. The interface is simple and perfect for me: set a timer to study, have a break, repeat! It's so great that I'm writing a review for it right now on my break!

KEEP TIMER WINDOW OPEN & ON TOP PLEASE!!!

RENEWED UPDATE: Same complaint as before, still not fixed. Desktop version needs detachable window/palette that can remain open on desktop. UPDATE: Please, please, please allow the Mac version to keep a persistent window to stay open and on top for timer. The ability to sync between desktops and mobile devices was crucial for me, and puts this app beyond the rest. But the desktop version would be *much* more useful if you could keep the display with the timer and task open, while other apps are active. Is there a way to “detach” the palette from the menu bar and keep as an open window (and maybe resizable)? (I’ve requested this feature repeatedly.)

Best Pomodoro app I’ve found for Mac, but still needs integrations

This is a very nice pomodoro-type app. I’ve used most of the well known cross platform pomo apps and this one is the most thoughtfully designed. Installing was easy. Works across devices. Very nice value for the money. That said, I’d be willing to pay a few dollars more for the ability to integrate with some of my other services like Zoho, Trello, Google Docs and Evernote. If the developer reads this, opening up an API for soft integrations like Zapier and IFTT would be big. Hard integrations via direct API calls would be huge. Or as Trump would say: YOOOGE. Overall 4/5. Happy with the purchase.

Works for me

Stop asking to rate the app multiple times. ----- The only app I found that can be synced across devices, though only apple’s ones. Sync changes happen in 5-10 sec in my tests. Hope apple will make changes in their app store, so we can buy an app one time for all devices, not buying the app on every device separately. ----- Stop asking to rate the app multiple times.

Very helpful!

Paying the $3 ($2 on my laptop, $1 on my phone) to sync the two devices was definitely worth it. The timer is subtle enough so you don’t get distracted by it, but not so subtle so that you forget about it. I’m excited to start using this regularly so that I can see my work habits over time.

Love this App!

I’ve been using the ‘Be Focused’ app on my iMac desktop and iPhone for about 10 months now. They sync perfectly when you purchase the pro. You set up your login information and can use it to log into the app for them to sync. It’s EASY to use and does everything you need. I’m in a PhD program and I like to monitor how much time I spend working in a class. So I’ve created my classes as a task and everytime I work I use the app. I don’t mark the task (class) as done until the end of the semester. It is so easy to track my progress and see how I’ve been doing day to day and week to week. I will be using this app for the long haul.
