Be Focused Pro - Focus Timer App Reviews

Very helpful, but very basic

I am finding this app very helpful in motivating me to put in the time I intend on a particular project. I also like that you can name your Pomodoro’s for a particular project and that it keeps track of how many you have completed. That said, I find the functionality fairly limited and basic. Nonetheless, for the price, I think it’s worthwhile.

Its OK

Its task management is weak. There is no way to see the list of tasks on which I have worked today. It uses the term “Done” to describe something on which you have worked but having worked on something does not imply it is done. There is no way to define a list of things to be done today. There is no way to prioritize the list of things to be done. For what it costs, it is OK. I am neither impressed nor horrified.

Syncing is broken

Syncing is broken such that when I start a timer on one device, the other device blows away the session I started on the other device.

Needs a couple of things

Overall, this works great. Having it sync with the iOS version makes it by far my favorite pomodoro tool. The iOS version allows you to select different alarm sounds. The Mac version does not. And I hate the sound it uses. I would have rated it 5 stars if it had choices similar to the iOS version. Like another reviewer mentioned, it would be helpful in some circumstances to be able to reset it.

Great time management tool for students

This app has really helped me and a lot of others with time management and as a result of downloading this app, I have finished assignments quicker and am not distracted. Thanks Pomodoro!!!

I would give it 5 stars if it has this feature

I wish it enables “Do Not Disturb” mode automatically when I start a promodo and disable when times up. Then, I will give it 5 stars without hesitation

Best Pomodoro I’ve found.

I’ve looked around the app store for one and this is simpliest and most straight forward. I do love that it tracks Pomodoros and lets you look at history of them. My only wish would be that it brought in tasks from OmniFocus but that’s not a big deal.

Just one thing missing

Wonderful app, just wished it let me track what I was doing during each pomodoro so I could know how much time tasks took me. Other than that, it’s wonderful!

Great application, but missing some important features

First off, I use this application daily, and would highly recommend you pick it up immediately. Having a chart to track your time is very helpful when trying to get a rough gauge of how much you’ve done as well as how long tasks generally take you. However there’s two features I think it needs: 1: An option to auto-pause the timer when the computer goes idle. On several occasions I’ve had to step away from a session and forgot to manually stop the timer. There is an option to skip breaks when you go idle, but I would think many people, myself included, would prefer an option to simply have our sessions paused. Seeing that they have all the individual functions/methods for this built, I hope the developers add this feature soon. 2: The ability to adjust your time in the current session. Similar to the issue about, occasionally something takes away from the current task and I forget to pause (or I forget to start back up) so a way to simply adjust the timer (ideally by dragging the wheel, but could be a simple + and - button) would also complete this application for me. Neither of those should prohibit you from purchasing this application, it’s still more useful having it than not having it, just some things to be aware of.

Love Pomo!

Been using Pomo for about a year now and love it. I seem to get more work done when I have that timer set.

Syncing is flawed

Don’t get this app if you expect syncing between your iPhone and the Mac app. The syncing is so terrible that the desktop version often overwrites the iPhone data and you are left with restarting pomodoros, lost pomodoros, reset pomodoros, etc. I either run the app on my iPhone and quit the Mac app or vice versa. You can’t have both versions open or it’s a disaster.

Thanks for making this, keep up the good work

At the time of this writing, this is the best Pomodoro app I have found in the Apple marketplace. I am upgrading to the paid version today for 2 reasons: 1. The developer of this deserves to get paid - even for the free version, I’ve gotten a great deal of utility from this app, and that is worth the $$ to me. 2. I am looking forward to trying the CSV export functionality. This is a good beginning in my mind to allow for tracking my billable time using Pomodoros - which would be amazing. Paid subscriptions and reviews are bread and butter to app developers, and this is one I want to support. Thanks for this app, and keep going! Maybe an Apple Watch version? I could use some Pomodoros as I’m walking around doing stuff.

Great Start a couple of requests

- Ability to select which date the week starts from. I would like Monday instead of Sunday - On the reports page would love a summary of the total for each task below the bar graph. Now I have to hover over each column and add them up manually. - Ability to batch delete tasks. Now you have to delete them one by one. - Ability to Archive task. So that the data is not deleted but it doesn’t display anymore in the pulldown list. Thanks

Great Tool. Annoying Alerts.

I like this app. The timer sync across devices is great. There are some features I wish were there, like slightly extending a Pomodoro or a break when I want by a a few minutes. However, Im giving a 1-star review because Im annoyed by the app alert begging for a review. I get that reviews are important, but its painfully ironic to be interrupted by the application which is intended to help me focus. Ive bought this timer on Mac and iOS. Dont beg me for extra stuff.

Love it for many reasons

Reminds me to get up an move for 5 minutes. I can keep working and focused, knowing a break is coming for whatever is trying to distract me. Can keep track of time spent on projects. Love it!

Good tool for maintaining momentum during the day

This app is well thought-out and genuinely useful for keeping yourself moving and motiviated during a bunch of work tasks. I bought it to support the developer - hopefully if a bunch of people continue buying it then well see continued improvements in the future. The added features in the paid version (mainly sync) dont appeal to me particularly, but they do appear to work just fine. I do wish that it didnt continue to "nag" about rating the app and such, even after purchase of the paid version. I also dont appreciate the various attempts to get me signed on for "special offers" and such. I think most people expect that once youve paid for an app, the app is then expected to stop nagging.

Great app for a great technique

I suffer from adult ADD, so I have to say that this app has not only been helpful, but it’s been a bit revolutionary. The idea of focusing on one task for 25 minutes at a time until you finish it allows me to keep from being distracted from the task at hand! I love the fact that it’s in such a perfect little spot that’s out of the way and very easily accessable. Plus, I love that it syncs to my phone so I can also use it for tasks away from my computer, like organizing and cleaning.

Excellent and Simple

Extremely simple to use and cool that it syncs across the devices (Mac, iPhone, iPad). It even syncs settings across devices which is cool, although the one setting that would be nice to keep different would be the “ticking”. If you turn it on then all of your devices tick at the same time, but sort of out of sequence. Wishlist item - sync tasks with Remember the Milk would be very cool!

This app used to be simple and worked

This app used to be a quick way to keep track of the time I spent working and allowed me to have built in breaks. However, the developers decided it worked too well, so they updated it. Now, my Pomodoro sessions start over each day, but my breaks do not. Why doesn’t the app reset breaks anymore at the start of the day? However, that’s not the most annoying part of the most recent update. The developers feel the need for validation so every couple of days when the time goes off, they have a pop-up that asks me to review the app. Just what everyone wants who trying to work toward having more focus in their lives. Well, Mr/Mrs Developers - I’ve now done as you asked. Perhaps you should start making plans for the next update. Maybe this time, you’ll spend a little time focusing on the needs of the users and not your own.

Helpful for focus

This app is very helpful for keeping me focused while I work. I find that it makes my day funner to use the Pomodoro Method because I don’t let things distract me as much. There are definitely still distractions! But now, when I think of something I want to look at online or on social media I just think “I will do that in 15 minutes when my Pomodoro is over.” Then I look forward to the break. I feel a lot more motivated in general.
