Be Focused Pro - Focus Timer App Reviews

Wonderful if you are looking for syncing across devices

This app works perfectly for me since I want to keep track of my productivity using multiple devices. It syncs seamlessly and instantly. The interface is very pretty, and it works very reliably! Additional features that would be great: being able to “count down” instead of up on the intervals, to allow interval goals to be set in advance; better statistics (e.g., when work is getting done, what tasks work is getting done on); being able to set up a “routine” or set of tasks that can be repeated. Also a tiny thing, but ticking during the breaks is annoying for those of us who’ve conditioned ourselves to work with the ticking! This should be able to be toggled off I think. Otherwise, love it!

awesome with one FATAL flaw

This would be a solid 5 star app for me if it wasn’t for one fatal flaw. At least once a day, I miss the end of a pomodoro because the nag screen to enter a review pops up and blocks the notification that it is time for a break. Well, here’s your review. Maybe I won’t miss any more notifications now. This needs to be fixed! A nag screen for an app I PAID for should not interrupt my workflow.

Productivity Optimized!

Great tool for keeping track of how much uninterupted work you do. Love the fact that I can view how many pomodoros I’ve logged in the past. My workflow has been enhanced by this tool. Did I add that it syncs w/ your iPhone seamlessly? You should get it. The best pomodoro tool I’ve used.

Its very useful

I really like this app as it helped me to better manage my time (work tasks and personal). Love if I could use this to set my messenger status so that I can have busy or working populated to people. Otherwise love this app… I love this app and using since 2 years…

Awesome!

The app does exactly what I needed! gone through half dozen others and came back to this. Runs in menu bar out of the way, and pops out when needed, customizeable intervals (can make it anything you want really), start/stop with a hotkey (so can trigger timer without looking for the app), and it syncs up with the phone too so i can resume the session on the go. Thanks, great going guys!! The only feature that I wouldn’t mind seeing added is maybe a tiny floating semi-transparent timer indicator that can be on top of other windows and can be moved out of the way… that way you always see how much is left. That’s pretty much the only thing in my wishlist. Highly recommend!

punctual

assess you in achieving your tasks

What’s with the not installing?

Maybe I can get a response this way. I’ve purchased PRO but it’s not on my machine. When I go to the APP store I get to OPEN the app but can’t download it. This is VERY ANNOYING! How do I get to download it so that I can simply run it on my MAC? Thanks

Linking all Devices

The app is great because it helps me stay on task. However, my timer does not sink smoothly between devices. If I pause the timer on my computer, it does not pause on my iPhone or apple watch. Usually, I would have to open the app on my iPhone to help it sink with my computer or iPad. I think the app will be much improved if the developers fix this in the next upgrade.

Simple and Easy

This is a great app. Works exactly I expected. Simple and easy to use. My only cratique is that the new version has super annoying alarm sounds. I wish it was just a simple one time ding like before, now the alarms are super loud, super long, and make me want to rip my head phones off and throw them at the wall.

Useful app

It works pretty well. I’ve had some bugs, but customer service is helpful. The new noises are quite loud — I wish I could adjust the volume!

Great App!

I used the regular Pomodoro Timer in the past, this one is much better however because you can add tasks and get graphs. Just wish there was a time tracking feature like others have been saying! Great for anyone with lacking discipline and ADHD!

Read the adverts carefully

In order to sync with other devices, you need to buy the app more than once. I have it on my office computer, but would have to buy it again for my iPhone or iPad. And it’s only moderately useful. You can’t really customize it beyond changing the focus and break times. If you want to spend three periods of 20 minutes each during the day trying to get to the bottom of your email inbox, e.g., but four 50 minute periods on a particular project, this app won’t help you. All tasks get the same time allotment. So, if you just want to set it for times to focus and times to take a break in general, it’s fine. Helpful even. Beyond that, not so much

Eh

Very good, only one that works consistently but it could be better in various ways. UI isn’t clean or readble as it should be. Might have to do with line heights. White noise would be great. quicker/fluid updates to all the devices is needed.

Pretty good, but notification sounds are buggy

I was very satisfied with the free version and wanted to customize the sound notifications so I purchased the paid version. Although it does let you choose a different sound, none of them appear to work which is very disappointing.

Usable

It is usable and don’t expect more.

Works seamlessly across devices and laptops!

I wanted a focus-counter that would work across my iDevices and MacBook Pros. This does it, continues the same 25-minute segments wherever I check it. I have not explored settings. The default works for me.

Stop working on el captain

After I tried to login the account, the software totally stopped working now. No response on add task, start section or any operations… I tried to reinstall the software and reboot my computer, but it is still the same.

No Support Resolving An Issue

I have been a consistent user of Be Focused for several months. Recently, a bug surfaced that was creating a real issue in its usefulness. I sent an email along with supporting documentation to support email address provided by the application. Thus far, I’ve heard nothing back. A follow up email was also sent, but still nothing from the Seller. If this application worked as expected, it would be a pretty good app. Unfortunately, I must give it one star because of their failure to follow through on a bug.

One star review

Reviews should be completely voluntary. And yet we get asked every other time the app gets opened.

I think the free version is better

I was loving it, then upgraded to stop the nagging. Now, the sounds are much softer and do not go through my headphones (blue tooth) and out the physical speakers so I can’t use it when everyone else is asleep or I miss the signals and at thet point, might as well not have it. I would like to go back to the free version.
